Poros can be reached from Athens by road or by sea. It is connected to the Peloponnese mainland by car ferry, but visitor can choose to park their car at Galatas and make the short crossing by water taxi. Visitors are encouraged to use the local bus or water taxi service to get around Poros—or, of course walk or cycle —to help preserve the island’s traditional character.
